Valliappa Foundation was granted a license in May 2022 and a Wireless Operating Licence in September 2022 to set up a Community Radio Station and broadcast on 89.6 frequency from Yercaud to the region in and around Salem District. Sona FM 89.6 – Community Radio, Namma Makkalin Kural, tested broadcast at the end of September 2022 and launched on 21st November 2022.
